Former Georgia First Lady, Author, Scientist. She was the wife of former Georgia's two-term Govenor George Busbee. Married in 1949 and moved to Albany, Georgia in 1952, she became a driving force in the state promoting volunteerism and healthy lifestyles. As an author some of her works still remains popular as she served as honorary chair of "Save The Fox" campaign, working with the Mothers' March Against Birth Defects, the Lung Association and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Voted Georgia's Woman Of The Year, she was a breast cancer survivor of 40 years. The mother of 4 and the grandmother of 13, she remained active in many social and civic organizations.
