She was born Oct. 1, 1918, at Ninnekah, Okla., the daughter of Jeemes Hadley and Mary Pearl Mitchell Wilburn. Edith married Harold Underwood on Dec. 24, 1940, in Maysville, Okla. She worked in retail cosmetic sales and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Duncan, and First Baptist Church while living in Madill.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, and the love of her life, her husband Harold, on Aug. 22, 1996. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Edith is survived by two sons, Frank Underwood and wife Janice of Kingston, Okla., and Rick Underwood and wife Brenda of Edmond, Okla.; one sister, Ruth Eatmon of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, Tim Underwood and wife Jennie of Las Vegas, Nev., Trae Turner of Harrisonburg, Va., Donavan Underwood and wife Jessica of Edmond, Chrissie Underwood and Dana Fletcher of Sapulpa, Okla., and five great-grandchildren.
Pall bearers will be Johnny Hall, Larry Rozzell, Charlie Gay, Greg Hall, Brad Rochell and Ronnie White.
Honorary bearers will be Bill Rice and Alvin Zinn.
For those who knew her, for those who meant so much to her, and for those she meant so much to, she's now free from afflictions and walking and talking with Jesus.
