Funeral rites for Martin John, 62, were held by Rev. Stanley Goryczka at Our lady of Lourdes church Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. John died at Billings, Mont., Friday last week, where he together with Mrs. Johns had gone earlier in the week to spend the winter. Death was due to a heart attack. He retired from active work two years ago due to failing health.
The pallbearers were N. L. Remillard, Minneapolis, Frank Grzech, Herman Trebiatowsk, Joseph Merchlewicz, Otto Plettl and Martin Ginter.
Born in St. Paul, Neb., in Nov., 1878, Mr. John came to Little Falls community in his early youth. He was married to Agnes Artonowski here June 23, 1903. He was employed in grocery stores in this city and Crosby, and was in business for a few years at Pocahontas, Iowa.
His wife and three daughters survive. The children are: Mrs. E. W. Nolte, Billings, Mont.; Mrs. Eugene LaFond, and Mrs. J. E. Johnson, St. Paul. There are three grandchildren. A sister and four brothers also survive the deceased. They are Mrs. George Johanek, Omaha, Neb.; Frank and Edward, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Adolph, Grand Island, Neb; and James, Little Falls.
Attending the funeral from out-of-town were: Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Nolte of Butte, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. E. F. LaFond and family, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Johnson, Fort Snelling; Mrs. George Johanek, Omaha, Neb.; Frank John, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Woehlert, Sioux Falls, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Remillard and family, Minneapolis, and Stanley Arton, Crosby.
