He was 6'01," weighed 190lbs, and played the position of Defense for teams in the Western Hockey League (WHL), American Hockey League (AHL), and the National Hockey League (NHL). Kordic played for Portland Winter Hawks from 1982 to 1985, Sherbrooke Canadiens from 1984 to 1987, Seattle Breakers from 1984 to 1985, Montreal Canadiens from 1985 to 1989, Toronto Maple Leafs from 1988 to 1991, Newmarket Saints from 1990 to 1991, Washington Capitols from 1990 to 1991, Cape-Breton Oilers from 1991 to 1992, and the Quebec Nordiques from 1991 to 1992. He was selected by the Montreal Canadiens round 4 #78 overall in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. On August 8, 1992, Kordic died at the age of 27, while in L'Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec. Kordic, who had been battling substance abuse for some time, had an episode in a hotel while high on cocaine. When police arrived, they tried to calm down Kordic but had no luck. The officers had to wrestle him to the ground so that they could arrest him. A few minutes later, Kordic stopped breathing. Kordic was later pronounced dead from a cocaine overdose and a collapsed lung due to a loss of oxygen. A coroner later found that no excessive force by police or incompetence on the part of the ambulance attendants resulted in his death.
