George Henry Strain was the son of John Simmons Strain and Anna Elizabeth Duke of Arkansas. He was the grandson of James Strain and Lucinda Simmons of Virginia, Arkansas and Indiana. Plus he was the great grandson of David Strain and Elizabeth Allen Strain of Pennsylvania..

He married Ettie Barbara on unknown date.

On the 1880 De Roan, Hempstead County, Arkansas census, I found carpenter John S Strain, age 45, born in Indiana, with his wife Anna E., 45, Virginia; sons: GEORGE, 18, born in Indiana; James, 15, IN; David, 7, Arkansas; Herman, 5, Arkansas and Joseph, 2, Arkansas born.

On the 1900 Earlsboro Twp., Pottawatomie, Oklahoma Territory census, I found farmer George Strain, 39, May 1861, born in Indiana; Etty, 26, Dec 1873, Missouri, had 2 kids, 2 living: son Clyde C, 8, Aug 1891, Indiana and son Duke F, 3, Sep 1896, born in Oklahoma. George's father was born in Indiana and mother in "OH."

On the 1910 Earlsboro, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma census, I found farmer George H Strain, 47; wife of 20 years, Ettie F Strain, 32, had 6 kids, 5 living; sons or daughters: Clide C Strain, 18; Duke B Strain, 13; Ester F Strain, 9; George H Strain Jr., 8 and Hazle B Strain, 4. All the children were born in Oklahoma, George in "Arkansas" (and his parents) and Ettie in "Kansas" (parents in IL).

On the 1920 Earlsboro, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma census, I found farmer "Gorge" H Strain, 58; Ettie B Strain, 46; Esther B Strain, 19; George H Strain, 17 and Hazel D Strain, 14. The kids were all born in Oklahoma, George in Indiana and Ettie in Missouri.
