Lulu May Cairns aged 12 years, 9 months and 11 days, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert John Cairns, died December 1, 1904, at the home of her parents in Coulterville. Deceased, while never of robust health, was taken ill quite suddenly and after a few hours of suffering passed to her reward. All that medical skill could devise was tried but in vain. Much sympathy is expressed for the bereaved parents and the sister and brother. Lulu May had endeared herself in the home, and because of her feeble health was the constant companion of her mother, but God, who doeth all things well, saw fit to take her to that house not made with hands, where suffering and sorrow are unknown. The funeral services were held in the R.P. Church (Reformed Presbyterian) church Saturday afternoon at one o'clock, and were conducted by Dr. J. L. Chesnut. Many of Lulu's schoolmates and friends were present. The interment was in the Coulterville cemetery. The Republican extends sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
