Frances C. Atkinson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was 92.
A native and lifelong resident of Florence, she was the daughter of the late Oliver F. and Lottie Bryant Cooper.
Frances loved working in her yard and tending to her garden of beautiful flowers and plants. Her devotion to her faith in the Lord was unwavering; she was committed to helping the sick and devoted to the fellowship of her church and her community. She is remembered fondly for her love of gospel music, dancing, playing bingo, and seeking out a good garage sale. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Her children and grandchildren love and miss her dearly.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Atkinson.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Dorian Atkinson (Carolyn Wages) and Anthony Wayne Atkinson, both of Pearl; daughter, Susan Diane Odom, of Florence; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Sebrell Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in the Burnside Community of Philadephia, MS.
