Biloxi, MS ~ Donald R. Bowyer, age 77, of Biloxi, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012, in Biloxi.
Mr. Bowyer was born in Leonardtown, MD to W.C. Bowyer and Alice Virginia Wingate on May 6, 1934, and was a longtime resident of the Coast. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years before his retirement. He enjoyed traveling and woodworking, and was of the Lutheran faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Ursula Bowyer of Biloxi; daughter, Lori Pontius (Mike) of Biloxi; grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, and Grayson Pontius; his sister, Shirley Wilson of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law, Lore Lang of Wesley Chapel, FL; niece, Trisha Sifford (Mark) and family of Wesley Chapel, FL; nephew, Robert Lang (Laura) and family of Jacksonville, FL; and his longtime devoted caregiver and friend, Dorothy Blackston.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, from 12 o'clock Noon until 1:15 p.m.
Graveside services with full military honors will be at Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
