John Rowland Grant (1874-1951) was one of five children of John Rowland Grant (b. 1849 Harford Co. MD - d. 1931 Struthers, Mahoning Co. OH) and Sarah "Sadie" Orr(b.1852 Byesville, Guernsey Co. OH, d. Nov 1941? Struthers, Mahoning Co. OH). After spending his youth in Guernsey Co., the younger John moved north to Mahoning Co. OH with his family and worked for many years in the mills as a heater at Youngstown Sheet and Tube. He married Margaret McClintock (b. 1878 Urichsville OH, d. 16 Dec 1964 Mahoning Co. OH); they had at least one child, Isabel (b. 30 Dec. 1908 OH, d. 1988 State College PA), who m. Thomas F. Walsh.
