Richard Balster
Richard H. Balster, 59, Coldwater, died of complications from a stroke at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.
He was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Carthagena, to Joseph and Clara (Kremer) Balster, both now deceased. On Sept. 29, 1956, he married Alice Hilgeford, who survives.
Other survivors are four daughters and their husbands, Terese and Ken Oliver, Cincinnati, Carolyn and Tom Koenig, Springboro, Elaine and Mike Forrest, Huntington, W.Va., and Kathy and Jerry Unrast, St. Henry; two daughters, Jennifer, Steubenville, and Marsha, Cincinnati; two sons and their wives, Mark and Joan, Coldwater, and Luke and Lene, Cleartre1d, Utah, a son, Paul, Columbus; two brothers, Walt, Kettering, and Larry, St. Henry; three sisters, Esther Moeller, Springfield, Mary Philpot, Russia, and Clara Walter, Spencerville; seven grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded by two brothers. .
Mr. Balster was the former owner/operator of Coldwater Meat Service and also had been a salesman. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles, both Coldwater, and was a graduate of
the former Brunnerdale High School. .
Mass of Christian burial is at 10: 30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev.
Ron Wilker officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
