David James Adrian Sr., 54 of 625 O'Connor Ave LaSalle, died unexpectedly February 20, 2012 in his home. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Wednesday in Faith Assembly of God in Peru with Pastor Steve Adamson officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday in the Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle. Dave was born in Peru on July 7,1957 to James and Beverly(Phillips)Adrian. He was the owner of Adrian Standard in LaSalle for 31 years. He took ownership following his father's death in 1981. The Adrian family ran the service station for over 50 years. Dave graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School in 1975. While in school, he can be remembered for leading rolls in musicals and was the Birdie Award recipient for his role in "No, No Nanette" in 1974. He also participated under the direction of Robert Manahan's music program at St. Margaret's Hospital. Dave could often be heard singing on his gas lot to his patrons. Dave was a lover of life and enjoyed spending time with his children,listening to music,enjoying a sunset,and the chance to grill a steak on his back porch deck. He loved people, was willing to give the shirt off his back, and loved to laugh. Survivors include three children, David James(Venessa)Adrian Jr. of Sycamore, and Danny and Riley Adrian of LaSalle and one step-grandchild Nyomi Tams of Sycamore. Six brothers and sisters, Danny(Debbie)Adrian of Peru, Debbie Fauth of Peru, James(Faith)Adrian Jr of San Clemente,CA., Liz(Terry)Pytel of LaSalle, Kim(Ron)Hodel of Bloomington and Jennifer(Mike)Ebner of Chippewa Falls,WI. Many nieces and nephews. Dave was looking forward to his first grandchild due in April. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Donna Jo Adrian. The corner of Third and Bucklin will never be the same. Memorials may be directed to the funeral home in care of Dave's children.
