Funeral services were held for Samuel Laurence Elliott on November 17 in the chapel of Finley and Son Mortuary in Portland. Rev. S. James Osborne officiated the service. Burial was in the Rose City cemetery in Portland.
Samuel L. Elliott was born November 4, 1856 in North Plains, Oregon and had been a resident of Oregon all of his life. In 1890 he was married to Lilla May Howland who preceded him in death. He was a member of the Multnomah Camp No. 77 Woodmen of the World in Portland. He had been living with his daughter, Mrs. Grace Shaw of Yamhill, since the death of his wife.
Other survivors beside Mrs. Shaw are one son, Samuel E. Elliott of Bridgeport; one brother, Sherman T. of Portland; one sister, Mrs. M.C. Wirtz also of Portland; and 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
