Frank was born on June 10, 1880 in Beaver Township, Boone County, Iowa, to Philip and Bridget Fidelis (Coyle) Lawler. Frank spent his entire life in the Ogden community. He married Marie Anna Hager on January 9, 1912, at St. Patrick's Catholic churhc in Perry, Iowa. To this union five children were born. They made their home on the farm Frank bought from his mother and brothers and lived there until a few years before his death when they moved into the town of Ogden. His health continued to fail (from Parkinson's disease) and he died on August 14, 1955 from bronchial pneumonia on the Boone County Hospital. His wife and children survived him.
