Daryl Victor Watkins, 59, Three Springs, died at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2006, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born March 21, 1947, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Harry V. and Chloe (Marks) Watkins. He was first united in marriage to the former Linda L. Gartland, who preceded him in death in 1976. He later married the former Bonnie G. Feathers, April 8, 1978. She survives at their home. Also surviving are a son and two daughters: Victor Watkins and wife Denise, Three Springs; Connie McMath and husband Bernard, Orbisonia; and Renae Schunk and husband Douglas, Huntingdon; and five grandchildren; two sisters: Violet Benson, Three Springs, and Flora Parsons, Shade Gap.

He was a member of Immanuel Bible Church, Three Springs, where he was on the church council.

He served on Three Springs Borough Council and was president of Three Springs Lions Club. He also served as a former member of Southern Huntingdon County School Board and as a member of Cromwell Lodge No. 572, Free and Accepted Masons, Orbisonia, and Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. He had worked for more than 39 years at U.S. Silica, Mapleton, as a maintenance supervisor.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Rev. Steve Heaster and Rev. James Hodges officiated. Burial was made in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs.
