Virginia "Vikki" Gutierrez, aged 48, of Wasco, CA.

Virginia Gutierrez was born July 3, 1963 in Virginia to Pedro and Josefa Gutierrez. Shortly after, the family moved to Wasco where Vikki attended elementary schools and graduated from Wasco High School with the Class of 1981. Vikki also earned certificates from Career Com College of Business to earn promotions when she worked for the USDA Cotton Research Center and at Sandoz as a scientific aid. She also worked at Janzen's Drug Store, and in her earlier years as a tool supplier in the oilfields. Vikki was very creative, always spending time working on crafts. She loved cats and that was reflected in many of her art projects. She loved to draw and paint, especially rock painting. She enjoyed working out at the gym and exercising so she would look good when she dressed up. Vikki liked singing in church and playing with the children.

Vikki is preceded in death by her mother, Josefa who passed away in 2007. She is survived by her father, Pedro Gutierrez; daughters, Tiffany Rose Briones and Mylene Faith Gutierrez; brothers, Pedro Gutierrez, Jr. of Shafter, Jose Luis Gutierrez, and Raymundo Gutierrez of Wasco; sisters, Janie Gutierrez of Wasco, Carmen Martinez of Bakersfield, Ninfa Martinez of Shafter, Gloria Martinez of Wasco, Minerva Gutierrez of Bakersfield, Mary Gutierrez, Lupe Orona and Martha Gutierrez, all of Wasco; 2 grandchildren Kevion Maston and Kalee Maston; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11am at Westside Family Fellowship Church for Virginia Gutierrez, age 48, of Wasco who passed away on February 18, 2012 in Bakersfield. Pastor John Ross will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Peters Funeral Home.
