NEILLSVILLE - Clyde Arndt, age 83, of Neillsville, died on Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Memorial Nursing Home in Neillsville.

Clyde "Ike" Henry Arndt was born June 30, 1921, in Fisk, the son of William Henry and Delia Arndt. He attended school in Neenah.

At the age of 16, Clyde went to work for Bergstrom Paper in Neenah. He was drafted into the U.S. Army for a few years, and when he returned, he went back to work at Bergstrom Paper and continued to work for them for 44 years.

He was united in marriage to Juanita Flenz. She passed away in 1983. He married Betty Gormanson-Arndt on June 21, 1989.

Clyde was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He loved to hunt squirrel and deer and greatly enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Neillsville; sons; a stepson; and a stepdaughter. He is further survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, William (Emma) Arnd of Neillsville; and a sister, June Gorst of Granton.

Clyde was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Arndt.

Funeral services for Clyde will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2004, at Gesche Funeral Home. Pastor James Mohr will officiate. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Menasha.
