William L. Rowe Sr. (1924 - 2008)
William L. Rowe, Sr., age 84 of Lodi, CA, passed away on September 26, 2008.
He was born to Golda E. and William R. Rowe on June 5, 1924 in Picher, Oklahoma.
He attended elementary school from 1st – 5th grades. The family moved to Stockton in 1935, where he attended Fair Oaks School from 6th – 8th grade, and Stockton High School.
On November 4, 1944, William married LoRee Kamp. In 1951 he became an Apprentice Electrician, attended Delta College for four years, and became a Journeyman Electrician.
He worked as an electrician for 38 years, most of those years with Collins Electrical Company in Stockton, and retired in 1989. He and his wife moved to Lodi in 1968.
He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Lodi, and I.B.E.W. Union Local #595 of Stockton.
William was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie McLaughlin; and a daughter-in-law, Dinah Rowe.
He is survived by his wife, LoRee Rowe of Lodi; son, William L. Rowe, Jr. (Donna) of Lodi; daughter, Denise Didreckson of Lodi; sister, Jacqueline Rowe of Lodi; six grandchildren: Darren Didreckson (Debbie), Dustin Didreckson, Jim Rowe (Stephanie), Deborah Paugh (Aaron), Jeff Quadros, and Angela Garibay; and eight great-grandchildren.
William was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and enjoyed his loving family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008, at 12:00 noon at Temple Baptist Church in Lodi, with Pastor Perry Kallis officiating. A private committal will be held Friday morning at Park View Cemetery, Manteca, CA.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3rd from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, near Beckman Road, Lodi.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be given in his memory to Temple Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 801 S. Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi, CA 95242.
