My great great granfather was from the state of Mississippi. He was in what has became known as the "Immortal Seventh".Having ben involved in the "Great Train Wreck in Tangiphoa Parish,Louisiana,Then the units went east, Under General Hood. James A. Davis did get to see his infant son"Andrew Jackson Davis" before leaving the state his wife and children were living in at the time he served in the war. They were in the state of La. Washington Parish.the family knew that he had died in a battle. But it has took years of research to fine out. His widow and children drew a pension check. And one thing to another, Is how we found his grave and death are in Ga.The battle he died in(guard of the wagons) was on August 31,1864 to September1,1864.He almost made it through. He enlisted in 1861.There is no stone. The d/of the conferency said all bodies were buried in two mounds. But in this cem.
