On July 9, 1988, he married Virginia Atkinson in Aberdeen, Washington.
He attended Grays Harbor College and a Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Oregon, had worked in boat construction in Westport. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool and darts and collecting bottles.
He was survived by his wife, Ginnie, his chidren Trisha and Nicholas, his brother Jeff, and his sisters Lisa and Jean, and his father Joseph Hubbard.
