Marion "Nick" Nicholas Allen, 83, of Grants Pass died Thursday, April 25, 1996, in Three Rivers Community Hospital's Washington Campus.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens with Robert Green officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 15, 1912, in Pittsburg, Ky. He served in the U.S. Army. On Feb. 21, 1941, he married the former Mary Reams in Norwood, Ohio. For many years he worked for the U.S. Navy as a civil service clerk. After retiring 27 years ago, he moved to Grants Pass from China Lake Navy Base.

Allen was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Ridgecrest, Calif., and was an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts and the Civil Air Patrol.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Ron Allen of Grants Pass; a daughter, Linda Brantner of Ridgecrest, Calif.; three brothers, D.C. Allen of Tracy, Calif., William Allen of Janesville, Calif., and Earl Allen of London, Ky.; three sisters, Virgle Evans of London, Ky., Elsie Conley of Santa Maria, Calif., and Pansy Green of Clovis, Calif.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
