Local mention has not been made of the death of Fred L. Beaman, late of Company M Third Illinois Vol. Infantry who died April 4 at Sandusky, O. Mr. Beaman was formerly of Oregon, Ill., from which place he enlisted April 26, 1898 for the Spanish American war. He was well known by Rockford men. He has for some time been an inmate of the Soldier's home, Sandusky. He was a member of Major Cramer's camp No. 6 U.S.W.V. of Cleveland, and is buried at Cleveland, O.
