Martha V. Karns, age 78, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012.
Martha was born on June 15, 1933 to Ray and Frances Ortega.
Martha is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles J. Karns Sr., her children, Frank Karns, Charles Karns Jr., Wayne Karns, Donald Karns and his wife, Kathy, Glenn Karns and his wife, Becky and Frances Sánchez, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert Padilla, two sisters, Rosemary Hernández and Virginia Mermis and her husband, Fred, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Frank Castillo Jr., her sisters, Rena Menez and Yolanda Sánchez, a brother, Frankie Padilla.
The Rosary service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Salazar and Sons Mortuary, with the Mass of Christian burial being celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at San José Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway Blvd. SE. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Castillo, Raymond Acuna, Joshua Karns, Michael Avila, Mark Mermis and Frank Romero. Honorary Pallbearers Jake Sambrano, Jazmine Acuna, Jazline Acuna and Desaray Karns.
