Ava Shoup, 75, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2005, at home after a brief battle with cancer.

Ava was born in Baxter County, Ark. in 1929. She moved to Eden, Idaho, with her family in 1936 where she was raised and educated. She moved to Gooding in 1950 and worked at the TB Hospital. She married Roy Shoup in 1952 and they were blessed with three children.

She was a long-time member of the Church of Christ and her life revolved around God and her family.

She loved little children and operated a day care in her home for 31 years.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Roy; daughter, Rhonda Miles; son, Gary Shoup; three precious granddaughters, Kimberly Greeley, Dana Miles and Jennifer Linsey; one angelic great-granddaughter, Kylee Greeley; many beloved nieces and nephews; three sisters, Grace Roice; Florence Simpson and Hilda Lewis; and two step-daughters, Deborah Reedy and Sheila Timm.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Cheryl Ann; her parents; four brothers and one sister.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Demaray's Gooding Chapel. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Gooding. Family members and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the chapel.
