He was born November 22, 1919, in Farmington, Iowa, the son of Robert Lawrence and Edith Hannah (Johnson) Deere. On August 30, 1943, he was united in marriage to Mary L. White in Davenport. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2001.
Bob was employed as a sales representative for Armour & Company of Davenport for 37 years. Following his retirement, he continued to work for Koenig's Meat Market of Davenport as a salesman to local food stores and restaurants.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Those left to honor his memory include his sons, Jon (Connie) Deere of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Dennis (Barry Martin) Deere of Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Rick, Michelle, Clarice, Rebecca, Matthew and Chris; his great-grandchildren, Amber, Joshua, Joel, Olivia and Allison; his sisters-in-law, Netha Deere of Bettendorf, Jean Deere of Bettendorf and Ruth Sprague of Buffalo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Deere and Gene Deere.
