Oshellie C. Everett was the daughter of Charles
Everett and Aly Boney. Her maternal grandparents were James Boney and Penelope (Penny) Wells Boney.
She married Peter H. Bozeman on 20 December 1839 in Lauderdale County, MS. J. O. Finley and Aly Finley gave permission for "our daughter" Oshelley C. Everett to marry Peter H. Bozeman. Oshelly was the step daughter of J. O. Finley.
Peter and Oshellie Bozeman were the parents of 8
children: Sarah P., Meedy G, Charles E., Mary Almeady, William H, Peter Edwin (Eddy), Jesse James, and another daughter also named Mary Almeady. It is thought the first Mary Almeady I
had died soon after 1860 and the youngest child Mary Almeady II born 1864, was named for her deceased sister, which was a common practice.
Only 3 of these 8 children lived to adulthood. They were Peter Edwin, Jesse James and Mary Almeady II.
Peter and his wife Oshellie C. Everett Bozeman owned a beautiful two story antebellum home about one mile south of Toomsuba, MS. Many social events took place at the Bozeman home. It was at this home, that Peter Bozeman raised a company to fight in the War Between the States.
Peter was Captain of that company, Company E, 13th Mississippi Infantry.
It is thought that Peter died soon after the War Between the States, about 1867 and his final resting place is unknown.
He may have been buried on his home place, the Bozeman plantation. His house, the only antebellum home in this area is still standing and occupied.
