Robert J. Appling passed away in his home in Lodi on January 24, 2012. He was 64. Born in May 5, 1947 in Skiatook,
Oklahoma, he has lived the past 30 years in Lodi. His life was one of hard work, and he enjoyed NASCAR, music, his dogs and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra Appling; children: Melissa Appling of Lodi, Ernest Appling of Fresno, and Terry Appling of Lodi, 9 grandchildren, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.

He was preceded in death by his Parents Ovie and Evrett Appling, his son Robert Joe Appling and daughter Charlene Evette Appling.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 30, 2012, in the Chapel of Flowers at Cherokee Memorial Park, hwy 99 at E. Harney Lane in Lodi. Visitation will take place from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way (Near Beckman Rd.), Lodi.
