PHARR TEXAS - Harold Luce, Jr., age 62, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at McAllen Heart Hospital. He was born October 25, 1949 to Earline and Harold Denman Luce, Sr.
After wedding his love Kathy Hermes they settled in Pharr, TX to raise their family. Harold served for 30 years as a produce inspector for the USDA and happily retired in 2005. He was lovingly known as the "idea man" by his family and loved doing creative projects and writing poetry.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Luce, children, Georgia and Moses Gunesch and Sarah and Joshua Hansen, mother and step-father, Earline and G.C. Shanks, sister and brother in law, Dianne and Mike Taylor and numerous loving family members and devoted friends.
Visitation: Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Skinner Silva Funeral Home on West Sam Houston in Pharr. Visitation will continue Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 8:00 am to 12 Noon with a Memorial Service held at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest with his father, Harold Denman Luce, Sr., at the New Energy Cemetery in Crockett, TX where a Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 28, 2012.
The family suggests Memorial Donations be made in his name to the New Energy Cemetery Association, 9270 State Hwy 21 East, Crockett, TX 75835.
