Fred W. Gouldthorpe, 81, 974 Glenwood NE, died at 12:15 a.m. today in Trumbull Memorial Hospital, following a two-week illness. Born April 29, 1887, in Youngstown, he was the son of Fred and Ellen Beard Gouldthorpe. On July 17, 1909, he married Emma Frances Clark, who died Feb 15, 1961. A member of Christ Episcopal Church, he was employed as a tool and dye maker by Beaver Pipe Tools, Inc. for 45 years. Survivors include a son, John C. of Warren; a daughter, Grace L. Reynolds of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Edna Zimmerman of Boardman; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday.

His grandson, Gordon said Fred walked about a mile and half to work every day because he didn't want to park the car in the lot. It never had a dent or scratch on it and he wanted to keep it that way.
