She was born October 27, 1924 to the late Carl and Janice (Fox) Young in Grandview, Ohio.
She worked in her parents' business, Young's Bakery, and graduated from Grandview High School. She met Jack Scott, married, and had 60 years together. Peanut spent her life helping others. She was a member and active volunteer at Linden United Methodist Church; later at Maple Grove United Methodist Church as well as the Griswold Center in Worthington. Through the years she was also active in Cub Scouts, PTA, Cancer Ray, and was a 60+ year member of Eastern Star, and more. Peanut enriched the lives of all she encountered, especially her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Scott; son, James E. Scott; and step-mother, Frances (Sewell) Young.
She is survived by her sister, Jean Carroll of Hilliard; daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Scott; grandson, James (Jessica) Scott; granddaughter, Amy (David) Tatz; great-grandchildren, Ella and Kevin Tatz; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family extends a very special thank you to the staff of the James for the loving and compassionate care she received there. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 22 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL 5554 Karl Rd. where the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 23. Rev. Frank Rowe officiating.
