Survivors include his wife: Karen Brewer of Emerson, IA; step-son: James Lynn Skalberg and wife Kelli of Coleman, AL; grandson: James Skalberg, Jr. serving in Afghanistan and wife Jessica of Red Oak, IA; granddaughter: Spring Dawn Skalberg of Coleman, AL ; great grandson: Carter James Skalberg of Red Oak, IA; sisters: Bonnie Brewer and husband Jeff Johnston of Elmwood, NE and Judy Schlosser and husband Joe of Shubert, NE; brothers-in-law: Ken Herbert and wife Cheryl of Villisca, IA and Gene Chatterton of Red Oak, IA ; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 4-6 PM Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Emerson Fire Department.
