She was former owner and publisher of the Springs Valley Herald where she worked with her husband James L. Ballard for many years. She is survived by daughter Victoria (Jerry) Hartman of Scottsburg, Indiana; son Dr. J. Logan (Kathy) Ballard of LaPorte, Indiana; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grand-children. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home in French Lick, Indiana. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the funeral home and on Saturday 10:00 AM until the time of service. A PEO Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, January 20, 2012. Burial will be in Ames Chapel Cemetery.
