BETZ - Anthony J., age 79, of Smithtown died on January 11, 2012.

He is survived by his beloved wife Josephine, children Joseph (Jennifer), Patricia (John), Edward (Valerie), Michael and cherished grandchildren Alex and Catherine, Jack and Lauren, Victoria and Heather and Gianna.

He was a retired hydraulics aerospace engineer and worked for Grumman Aircraft Corp. and Fairchild Republic Corp. He was proud of the fact that he helped put a man on the moon with a slide rule.

He was also an honored veteran, serving his country during the Korean War. He leaves behind a step-sister Kay, half-sisters Carol, Eleanor, Ann Linda, Lorraine, Ruth, Margaret, Susan and half-brother Daniel.

Visitation is Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Fives Funeral Home, 31 Landing Avenue, Smithtown, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, 11 am at Sts. Philip and James in St. James, NY.

Internment following at Calverton National Cemetery.
