Lance Cpl. Kenneth E. Cochran, 20, of Wilder, Idaho died Jan 15 conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He assigned to 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan. Lance Cpl. Cochran showed everyone around him what it was like to be a truly dedicated Marine. He was not afraid to take care of fellow Marines, always giving a helping hand and expecting nothing in return. Lance Cpl. Cochran was a give-it-all, all the time Marine, who found the positive in every situation," said Thomas M. Burkhardt, 9th ESB Force Generation Element first sergeant. He is survived by his father, former marine, George Cochran, mother, current Army Captain, Julia Cochran, sister, Army Medic Spc. Joyce Cochran, currently assigned to Bastian Army Hospital, Afghanistan, brother, George (Geo) Cochran, of Wilder, Idaho, and sister, Michael Cochran, currently in her 1st year at BSU.
He was fortunate having had his older sister Joyce serving with him in theatre. He and his bubbly personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
