Rachel Coley Carthage
Rachel Cameron Coley, 93 died Monday (2-12-2007) at her home.
She was born in Moore County, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Kate
Cameron. She was preceded in death by her husband. Clifton Ray Coley, and sons Kenneth Eugene Coley and Lester Ray Coley.
She was the oldest Member of White Hill Presbyterian Church, having 92 years of membership.
She is survived by sons, Ralph C. Coley and wife Norma of Holden Beach, James Coley of Sanford and Dwight Coley of Carthage; daughters Gaynell Layne and husband E. J. of Sanford and Linda Scholbrock and husband Steve of Cuba, City Wisconsin. 27 grandchildren, numerous great- grandchildren and great, great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m today at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at White Hill Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Brown Patton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 685 Bennett Street, Southern Pines, N.C. 28387.
Arrangements are by Rogers-Prickard Funeral Home of Sanford.

Rachel did not have an easy time. Her husband left in the 40's and she raised those children by herself. What a strong woman you must have been. You raised a fine group of children. Quite an accomplishment.
