[Rickards fiction: Amelia McKay (nee Young) Was born in CA. in 1856 the only daughter of Jacob & Magdalene Young. In the late 1850's she moved with her parents to Nevada were they settled in Virginia City were her father was the Manager of the Miners Bank. She met and married Mr. George McKay in 1873 and they were married (no children) She died Feb. 7th 1873 in Virginia City at age 17. She was buried in the Catholic section of the Virginia City NV Cemeteries. Her mother was later laid to rest beside her in 1887.
The following infomation was sent to me Oct. 14th 2009 by a family member. My husband (Thomas Case)is the 3Xgreat nephew of Amelia. Her sister (Magdalene) was my husband's 2X great grandmother. Amelia was born in Marysville, CA on May 5, 1856. She married George McKay Oct 19, 1872. She was killed in an accident at Gould Curry Mining Co. where George worked on Feb 17, 1873.]
