Nancy Priscilla Halsted, 85, of Russellville, died Sunday, January 14, 2012 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville.

The daughter of James and Dottie Loftin, she was born November 15, 1926 in Witt Springs.

She owned Halsted Grocery in Hector and Pleasant Grove. She was a member of the Eastern Stars of Hector and the Assembly of God faith. She enjoyed fishing, crochet, reading, camping, sewing and cooking fried apple pies. She made and sold many, many fried pies at the Falling Water Church Camp. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Tolley Halsted; two sons, Boyd Halsted and Ulis Halsted; her parents; three sisters, Nellie Thames, Lylian Wright and Donna Sullins; two brothers, Ladon Loftin and Clyde Loftin, two special brothers-in-law.

Survivors include four daughters, Diane Larue and husband Homer of Hot Springs, Darlene Halsted of Russellville, Lequitta Sims and husband Rex of Dardanelle, Holly Spriggs and husband Jeff of Russellville; eight grandchildren, Pamella Smith and husband Robbie of Mount Judea, David Larue and wife Susan of Dover, Mike Smith and wife Tori of Russellville, Carl Smith and wife Kim of Dardanelle, April Teeter of Russellville, Ryan Spriggs and wife Amanda, David Spriggs, Megan Spriggs, all of Lucasville, OH, Ashely Carter and husband Scott of Dardanelle, Aryn Rhinehart and husband Dusty of Dardanelle; 21 great grandchildren, Brittney Henderson and husband Chad of Russellville, Derek Larue of Dover, Macey Smith , Tate Smith, both of Mount Judea, Zach Smith, Brad Smith, Lexie Smith, all of Russellville, Sidney Smith, Shelby Smith, both of Branson, MO, Logan Moudy, Carson Meredith, Evan Carter, Easton Carter, Elyas Carter, Austin Rhinehart, Savana Rhinehart, Drake Rhinehart, all of Dardanelle, Raygan Teeter of Dover, Madison Duncan, Skyler Duncan, both of Russellville, Rylynn Spriggs, Hunter Spriggs of Lucasville, OH; great-great grandchild, Rugger Henderson of Russellville; five sisters, Lenora Matthews and husband Carlyle of Phoenix, AZ, Zelta Lozano of Phoenix, AZ, Janice Campbell-Clarke and husband Bob of Jasper, Sharon Sanders and husband Gene of Pottsville, Mary Gerg and husband Jim of Marshall; three brothers, Carl Loftin and wife Delena of Harrison, Herbert Loftin and wife Lois of Rathdrum, ID, and Jerry Loftin of Harrison; brother-in-law, Leroy Sullins of Marshall; and numerous nieces, nephew and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Scottsville Assembly of God Church in Scottsville. Reverend Roy Chisum will officiate. A private burial will be held following the service. Pallbearers are Mike Smith, Carl Smith, David Larue, Derek Larue, Lionel Halsted, Chad Henderson and Willis Yancey.
