Mrs. Beckum was a native of Hancock County but made her home in Milledgeville. She was a retired employee of Central State Hospital. She was preceded in death by her Husband Marshall Thomas Beckum, Sr. two sons, Marshall Thomas "Buddy" Beckum and Clifford Owen Beckum. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son William Beckum (Donna) of Milledgeville, two daughters Joan Jackson (Leon) of Gordon and Laverne Johnson (Jack) of Milledgeville, two daughters-in-laws, Elaine Beckum of Milledgeville and Wylene Beckum of Eatonton, a brother James B. Wood (Judy) of Elgin, TX, 15 grandchildren 30 great-grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.
