Frances Hooker Anderson, 82, of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Trinity Village Medical Center.

Born December 6, 1929, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Retha Hooper Hooker.

She was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff and was a 1949 graduate of Pine Bluff High School.

In 1953, she married Rufus Lee Anderson and they spent the next fifty-three years together until his death in 2006.

She worked for First South Savings and Loan for thirty-two years as a receptionist, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and AARP.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rufus Anderson; two sisters, Julie Hooker Cook and Retha Ann Hooker Commer; and two brothers, John F. Hooker, Jr. and Charles D. Hooker.

She is survived by two sons, David Anderson, of Pine Bluff and Larry Anderson and wife Terri, of St. Joe, Arkansas; one daughter, Lynn Varner, of Bryant; four grandchildren, Candy West, Lynzie Poplaski, Jordan Massey and Noah Varner; two great-grandchildren, Keagan and Noah Poplaski; one brother, Benny F. Hooker, of Birmingham, Alabama; and two sisters, Sally K. Baker, of Grapevine and Martha J. Sanders, of Bartlett, Tennessee.

Funeral Service will be 10:00AM Thursday, January 12, 2012 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Dr. Dan Festa officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00PM at Robinson's.

Memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 6300 Trinity Drive, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.

The family will be at the home of Candy West after the service.
