Patsy Ruth Henry was born on March 21, 1930 in Pasadena, California to Buford Rushe Horton (1897-1955) and Maurine Horton and passed away on January 7, 2012 at her residence.

Pat lived several years in Lea County in the 40's and 50's and returned here in 1962, living in Lovington until her death. At the young age of 18, Pat became one of the early and rare women pilots in New Mexico, and was well-known for taking her Piper Cub through maneuvers over the farm where she lived at the time in McDonald, NM. An avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves, she let everyone know that when they entered her home, it was "Cowboy Country", and if there was a Braves game on TV…be quiet!

Her beloved mother, Maurine Collins, passed away five years ago at age 101, and was also part of Lovington's history for most of the 20th Century. She was preceded in death by her parents, two children, Rebecca Lynn Shannon (1960-1977) and Robert Patrick Henry (1962-2010) and her sister, Alice Joann Hummer (1933-1972) and one grandson, Jerry Hodge. She is survived by her husband, Forrest Henry, also a long-time resident of Lovington; her daughter, Robin Denise Johnson and husband Danny of Lovington; sons, Steven Dane Foster and wife Cheryl of Midland, TX and Michael Scott Foster and wife Donna, also of Midland, TX; Stepchildren, Cindy Zada Haseloff of Rockport, TX and Forrest Dale Henry of Atlanta, GA; twelve Grandchildren: Daniel, Rebecca, Courtney, Laramie, Shane, Savannah, Lance, J.P., Allison, Gabe, Damien and Amy; four Great-grandchildren: Buford Rushe, Kaelyn, Ava, Todd, and one nephew, Charles Wesley Hummer and wife Nancy of Phoenix, AZ. A beloved wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Patsy Ruth Henry will be dearly remembered and sorely missed.
