Obituary, The Oklahoman, Wed, 24 Jul 1996:
Dorothy Louise Fields Dews Bednar, 84, died Monday, July 22, 1996. Services will be Thurs, July 24 2 pm in Dumuth Funeral Home with Rev Herbert Wilson Masters officiating. Dorothy was born Aug 27, 1911 in Enid OK to Robert Edmond Fields and Elizabeth Finney Steele Fields.

She graduated in 1932 from Oklahoma College of Women in Chickasha (now Univ of Science and Arts of Oklahoma). She married Johnson Reese Dews and they resided in Chickasha until his death. On June 13, 1946 Dorothy married Martin Ferdinand Bednar who was a certfied public accountant in Oklahoma City and she worked for many years as secretary in his office.

Dorothy and Martin enjoyed the Lyric Theater, and were patrons the OKC Zoological Society. They spent their retirement years travelling around the world. Martin died July 15, 1990.

Her survivors include 3 grand nephews, John Michael of Phoenix AZ, Stephen Quarnstrom of Avalon CA, and Brian Quarnstrom of Costa Mesa CA; and a grand niece, Kelly Quarnstrom of Costa Mesa CA. (Demuth Funeral Home)
