Mrs.Aytchie "Hattie" Presson Metheny Greer Dies After Extended Illness. Mrs. Aytchie "Hattie" Presson Metheny Greer, age 76, passed away Sat. 25 Feb 1961 at 12:55p.m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Homer True of Dorena, MO. She had been in ill health for the past two years. She was born 1 Mar 1884 at Bertrand, MO, the daughter of the late 'Ike" Isaac McDaniel and Caroline Hale Presson. She had lived in Mississippi County her entire life and was a member of the East Prairie Church of God. She was first married to Oscar Metheny who proceeded her in death in 1921. In 1928 she was married to Joseph Greer, who proceeded her in death in 1942. Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Martha Metheny True of Dorena, one step-daughter, Mrs. Willo Faulkerson of East Prairie, one brother, "Uncle" Lee PRESSON of East Prairie, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Nine sisters and two brother, and two grandchildren have proceeded in death. The body lay in state at the McMikle Funeral Home in East Prairie and Funeral services were conducted Monday, 27 Feb 1961 at 2p.m. with Rev. Harry Gildewell officiated, assisted by Rev. William Brown and Rev. L. O. Ball. Interment, followed in the Dogwood Cemetery. McMikle Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangement.
