Ruby Cooper Applegate, 99, died on Friday (July 23, 1999) at 5:00 p.m. at Heartland Manor Nursing Home in Casey. She was a nurses aid for Heartland Manor and Birchwood Shelter Care Home.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 26, 1999 at 2:00 p.m at Markwell Funeral Home in Casey with Reverend Ronnie Gross officiating. Burial followed at the Willow Creek Cemetery. Visitation was held from noon until time of the service.

Mrs. Applegate was born November 30, 1899, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Miller) Ross. She married Glen Cooper in 1917, and he passed away in 1946. She later married Zene Applegate.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Phyllis) Henderson of North Highlands, California; two grandsons, Neil and Mark Henderson of Sacramento, California; one granddaughter, Joyce Booth of El Dorado Hills, California; two great granddaughters, Nicole and Jennifer Henderson of Sacramento, California; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Durward Cooper; and two sisters, Anna Funk and Leota Ashley.

Mrs. Applegate attended Casey Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a member of Willow Creek Church and the Merry Makers Club.
