Founder of Kincaid Furniture Company. Married to Mary Sue "Bit" Mackie Kincaid at the time of his death. Father to 10 children, James, Jeannette, Dennis, Joe and Jeanelda with first wife, Mabel Louise Klutz; and Susan, Joseph Wade Jr, Rebecca, Steven and Kathy with Mary Sue. Long-time member of Hudson First Baptist Church, where he served as a church school teacher. Served on boards of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute as well as the Bank of Granite and the Southern Furniture Manufacturers Association.
