Dr. Margo Prade was born in Ohio and was an excellent student in her youth. She was Valedictorian of her high school and attended Kent State University and Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine. After graduating she began practicing at a Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Prade was very active in her community and garnered numerous awards including NEOUCOM's Superior Service to the Community.
On November 26, 1997 Dr. Prade was found shot to death in her van near the Medical Center where she practiced. Her death shocked and outraged the community and there was much public outcry to find her killer. In a highly publicized trial her ex husband Douglas Prade was tried and convicted of murder and was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.
In a stunning turn of events DNA test results excluded Douglas Prade as a suspect and he was released from state prison on January 30th, 2013.
Several years after Dr. Prade died her tragic murder was featured on HBO's America Undercover Series Autopsy 6 entitled 'The Margo Prade Story'.
