SHELBY- Mrs. Faye McDaniel Dixon, 80, of 1606 N. Oak Dr., died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at Hospice House of Rutherford Co. A native of Cleveland Co., she was the daughter of the late Phifer "P.C" and Mary Edwards McDaniel. She attended and was baptized at Eastside Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years. She later joined Elizabeth Baptist Church where she was active in the Keenagers Choir, and had a love of working with the children at both churches. Faye had a passion for traveling and music, and always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She retired from Belk after 30 years of service.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Enos Dixon; and sister, Betty Bridges.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her loving daughter, Lynn Dixon Patterson and husband Tony of Rutherfordton; sister Doris Cash Bridges of Shelby; three grandchildren, Heather Fry and husband Chris of Rutherfordton, Zachary Patterson and wife Jill of Portsmouth, VA, and Adam Patterson of Rutherfordton; four great grandchildren, Hannah Lynn Fry, Jacob Ellis Fry, Dixon Callie Patterson, Hadley Faye Patterson; niece, Sue Floyd; nephew, Dana Cash; and special friend of the family, Paula Sutherland.

SERVICES: Wednesday, 2pm, at Elizabeth Baptist Church

VISITATION: One hour prior to the service, at the church

CLERGY: Drs. Rit Varriale, Don Scoffield, and Rev. Cline Borders

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery
