A. W. Dial was born near Bar Store, Macoupin county, Illinois, September 25, 1848, and died at his home in Waverly, Sunday, June 19, 1910 at 10:45 a.m. at the age of 61 years, 8 months, and 25 days. Althought he had for the past two years been in very poor health, it was only the past few weeks that his case seemed hopeles. He was united in marriage to Rhoda Shuler, February 25, 1870, and to this union two daughters were born. His wife died March 25, 1888, he was again united in marriage to Mrs. Mary Lamont in 1890, who with his children survive him. Mr. Dial was a member of th First M. E.church. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary Dail, two daughters, Mrs. L.B. Turner, of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Frank Curtiss of Maxwell, one step son, Alex Lamont, of Kansas City, MO., one sister Mrs. Sarah Short, of Chatham, and one brother, T. J. Dial, of Waverly, Ill.
The funeral was held at the family residence at two p.m. last Tuesday n charge of Rev. L. G. Adams, paster of the First M. E. church, assisted by Rev. Miller. Interment was in East Cemetery, amid a down pour of rain.
