Ilene was born to Raymond William Gross and Ilah Frances (Parker) Gross on May 21, 1940. Ilene was born in Sand Point Idaho, but raised mostly in the south end of Seattle, Washington (White Center).
She was married to Robert Joseph Ludwig. She had two children, Charles Joseph Ludwig in Seattle, WA (December 1, 1958) and Debra Ludwig (November 20, 1959) in Buffalo, New York.
In late 1959 Ilene was diagnosed with lukemia while in Buffalo New York. She was brought back to Seattle to be under the care of her mother, Ilah. She never fully recovered, and passed away due to leukemia on April 16, 1960 at the tender age of 19 years, 11 months of age.
