Monroe County Appeal 2/24/1965:
James T Adams, of Memphis, 70 in April of this year, died Saturday at Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville, where he had previously undergone surgery.
He was retired from the maintenance department of the Missouri State Highway Commission in which he had served for 35 years.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Memphis Christian Church, with burial at Memphis.
Son of the late Mr and Mrs Charles H Adams, he was born in Marion County, but had spent much of his life at Victor, where the family later lived.
Surviving him are his widow, the former Miss Jewell Tanzey; one son, Darrell of Columbia; one daughter, Jane of Boonville; five brothers, Ed of Paris, Emmett, and Charles H of Lentner, Albert of Stoutsville, and Richard; three sisters, Mrs Lena Brown of Kokomo, IN , Mrs Effie Clark of Xenia, OH and Mrs Vera Smith of Palmyra.
