William "Bill" W. Adkins, age 80, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Broadway Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Bill was born February 21, 1931 in Loco, Texas. He was a truck driver for many years before retiring. He also was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.

He was survived by his wife, Doris Adkins of Sweetwater, Texas; one daughter, Mary Stene and husband Michael of Chocataw, Oklahoma; one son, Kenneth Adkins and wife Pam of Abilene, Texas; four grandchildren, Kimberly Emslie, Dennis Stene, Christina Adkins and Molly Adkins; six great grandchildren, two sisters, Katie Bess Crawford of Amarillo, and Sue Boggs of Chocataw, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Wyatt Adkins, Morris Adkins, and sisters, Estelle Adkins, Elizabeth Baker and Bonnie Adkins.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 6:00 -8:00 P.M.
