Charles Madison Duncan, 83, passed away on Nov. 26, 2003, in a local hospital. Mr. Duncan was a native of Christiansburg, Va. He was a member of Azalea Garden Church of God, where he was church treasurer for 22 years and held numerous positions in the church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and retired from The Virginian-Pilot Ledger Star as a printer in the composing room with 43 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Duncan; one daughter, Peggy Rich of Asheville, N.C.; three sons, Rodney Allen Duncan and Barry Madison Duncan of Virginia Beach and Mark Andrew Duncan and his wife Linda Lee of Chesapeake; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
